Good morning! It’s a beautiful sunny day in good ole’ Charlotte, NC! I went for a walk/hobble/jog/limp this morning and managed to get in just over two miles! So nice to be active… even if it’s at half the speed of the usual person! 🙂

So, as mentioned in my prior post, I had my first Rapid Infusion of Ocrevus this past Monday. Wow! Nothing like getting to the Infusion Center at 8am and being on my way home by 12:15! So very glad I wasn’t required to be there from 8am-5pm. The usual infusion method makes for such an exceptionally long day! My doctor suggested the Rapid Infusion because I didn’t have any significant reactions during prior infusions…. I’m so glad he did! Other than a slightly itchy throat, everything went so smoothly… I guess I was just waiting for something to pop-up, but it never did! Nice!

The first days post-infusion can be a bit dicey for me… and I blame (Once in a while you just HAVE to blame something other than yourself… right? LOL) the steroids. “Dicey”, you say? “Yep”, I say back. 🙂 Let me explain… basically, the steroids make me a bit tired and a bit too energetic at the same time. Also, they make me very, very crabby.

For example…. When I got home from the hospital on Monday afternoon, I was exhausted. I took a quick shower to wash off all the Covid (Bad joke.. I know) and went to bed. Stayed in bed for two or three hours and then got up for dinner. Had dinner and was feeling more alert than tired, so started watching a few shows with my smoking hot lady… around 10 she suggested we go to bed and I told her I really wasn’t tired. She insisted we go to bed because she thought I needed my rest. 🙂 Nothing wrong with people looking out for you! Anyway… I started watching TV in bed and next thing you know… I’ve watched one movie and am finishing the seocnd… my 200th viewing of “Jaws”! I look at the clock and it’s 3:30am… and I’m not the slightest bit tired. 🙂

I did end up shutting the TV off and probably dropped off to sleep around 4. Slept til 6:20 when my 3rd grader woke us up and ended up not feeling tired for the rest of the day. In fact, felt good enough to get a bunch of stuff done around the house, with energy to spare! Good times! I imagine this will catch up to me just a bit in another day or two, but the extra energy is nice!

Now to the ugly side of things…. Like I said, the steroids make me grumpy! I’m usually a rather laid back kind of a hobbit… err… person! However, after several infusions I know I have to be aware of my temper and lack of patience! It’s easy for simple things to set me off on a rampage and say/do/act stupidly. 🙁 It’s not good and I always feel bad for taking out my bad temper on whoever is closest to me… usually my wife. So, I’m challenging myself to really pay attention to what I’m doing and how I’m feeling so I can avoid the need to apologize for being a butt-head. I’m hoping I meet my own expectations this time around!

Wish me luck!

I’ll leave things there for the day! I’ll chat with you later in the week or early next! Enjoy the last few weeks of Summer….

Steve

Greetings! Yes, I realize there is a bit of BIO space associated with completing a Blog via this site. It's rather limited, though, with respect to what you can share (Drop down only responses, Limited response fields, etc.), so I thought I would add a Biography Page. So here goes... in Bullet Point Format. It's short but likely to expand over time... still meandering a bit with look and feel stuff! Name: Steve (Or Stephen) Marital Status: Yes, Married to my wife Stacey for 25 years (Maybe she'll be a contributor) Children: Yes, Three boys (Ages 21, 19 and 17) and one girl (Age 7) Hobbies: Reading, Anything Outdoors (Fishing, Hiking, Etc) and Cooking
