Hello! Today is Friday, May 22nd, and it’s a sunny morning in Charlotte, NC! After three full days of heavy rains, the sun is a welcome sight! We’re supposed to get some bad storms later this afternoon, but we’ll bask in the sun as time allows!

So, first post of the week! It’s been busy trying to occupy everyone during the bad weather, so that has limited some of my time. Additionally, last Saturday I woke up with REALLY BAD Vertigo. πŸ™ I’ve seen a few definitions for Vertigo, but the jist of things is… Vertigo is the sensation of whirling, spinning in place or loss of balance. Essentially, for me, Vertigo is/was the sensation that the room was spinning rapidly… all while my eyes felt like they were making fast, large circles in my eye sockets. Yuck.

Fortunately, Vertigo gets a bit better when you stand up… but standing up can be a problem too. Personally, I was very off balance and ran into a few walls before things equalized. Unfortunately, Vertigo is at it’s worst for me when I’m laying down, so sleeping was hard. I tried to sleep on one of the chairs in the living room and that was… OK, but there’s nothing like bed when you’re tired. Right?

It’s Friday today and last night I had a decent nights sleep, but still felt “weird” when I got up. Hopefully tonight will see an end to things. I just don’t know. Also, while Vertigo CAN be an MS “Thing”, it’s also associated with inner ear problems. I don’t feel like I have an ear ache, but I guess it’s possible. See what I mean about MS? Some of the times you’re feeling bad… it’s easy to blame MS, when it might be something different. πŸ™

Also, this has been a bad week for the DIZZY’S. I used to experience dizzy spells all the time before I was diagnosed with MS. Fortunately, when I started my first medication, it really helped limit my dizzy days (No pun intended). The dizziness has been with me since Saturday morning, so it came right along with the Vertigo. So, it’s really been a bit of an off week. I mentioned in prior posts that I recently switched to a newer and “stronger” MS medication and now Im a bit concerned that it’s not working for me? Ive felt pretty good for the last two months after starting the new medicine, but if this keeps up… may require an appointment with the Neurologist. Again.. Yuck. πŸ™

Still, it’s not all doom and gloom! I was able to go for a walk yesterday and my wife and I went on another this morning. Exercise always seems to help… at least in some capacity. Also, I’m certainly feeling better today, so hopefully that means the weekend will be fine! πŸ™‚

I’ll let you know.

It’s Memorial Day this weekend and I hope everyone finds a way to show appreciation to the Military Members who have given the ultimate sacrifice for Country! My dad, sister, brother and I have all been in the military with my Dad and older sister actually serving during war time (Vietnam and Desert Storm). So, take a moment to remember our Hero’s and their service to Country!

Have a great weekend and I’ll chat at you next week!

Greetings! Yes, I realize there is a bit of BIO space associated with completing a Blog via this site. It's rather limited, though, with respect to what you can share (Drop down only responses, Limited response fields, etc.), so I thought I would add a Biography Page. So here goes... in Bullet Point Format. It's short but likely to expand over time... still meandering a bit with look and feel stuff! Name: Steve (Or Stephen) Marital Status: Yes, Married to my wife Stacey for 25 years (Maybe she'll be a contributor) Children: Yes, Three boys (Ages 21, 19 and 17) and one girl (Age 7) Hobbies: Reading, Anything Outdoors (Fishing, Hiking, Etc) and Cooking
