Salutations! Im trying to be clever with my initial greeting as “Hello all” or “Hey there” don’t seem to be exciting ways to start the written word. 🙂 Today is Thursday, April 8, and it’s another sunny day in North Carolina! Hope it’s sunny and warm where you are as well!

So, the talk about Corona is still pervasive and will probably continue to be so for at least the next few months. I’ve seen estimates trending lower over the last few days with respect to case numbers and severity, which is really nice to hear! Most of the folks talking to these numbers attribute the trending to social distancing/self quarantine… I’ll take them at their word! What else can we do? I just hope and pray that virus numbers continue their downward trend and that people can get back to life as normal!

Speaking of “Life as normal”… I mentioned in my last blog that the last 6 months have not been my best from an MS standpoint. 🙁 If I haven’t said it before, the type of MS I have is called Relapsing/Remitting MS (RRMS for short). RRMS is the first step in a series of MS diagnosis that… to put it simply… go from bad to worse. RRMS leads to Secondary Progressive MS and then to Primary Progressive MS. Transition from RRMS to SPMS (and so on…) doesn’t always happen… but there is always that chance… and that stinks. 🙁

What is RRMS you ask? RRMS is what most people are first diagnosed with when they find out they have MS. Basically, RRMS means that a person will experience times where their disease is active… and then isn’t. For me, my latest period of activity started late last Summer and went on through January. That’s a long time. 🙁

For a bit of background, I live in a state of denial, which is, I think, mostly a good thing. If I don’t feel good… maybe I didn’t get enough sleep! If I’m a bit dizzy, maybe I didn’t drink enough water and am dehydrated… the excuses go on and on. I try to live like a normal person who, once in a while, experiences up’s and down’s with respect to their health vs defaulting to, “OMG! My MS is flaring up!”. That’s the approach I take… until I can’t. Well, this was one of those times where I couldn’t get by and the excuses didn’t make sense. So, after feeling really bad for three or four months… I finally went to see my Doctors… YES! Plural! Doctor with an S! 🙂

I’ll elaborate on why I saw multiple doctors on my next blog… I have to stop here as my 7 year old is hovering nearby and asking LOTS OF QUESTIONS! Too hard to concentrate! 🙂

Stay well and I’ll try to complete this tale tomorrow or over the weekend!
