Hello! So, it’s August 21st and it’s been about three weeks since my last post. 🙁 I DID go on vacation for a week and when we got back… I wasn’t able to access my blog. WHAT IN THE WORLD? Right? Turns out it was an issue with my browser… who knew? Anyway, I now know I just have to access things from a different browser type and… drum roll… I can fill your mind with my clever (and sometimes meandering) thoughts and ideas. There even might be, occasionally, a true fact or two … you’ll probably have to look pretty closely for them. 🙂

If you’re curious… our vacation was great! The weather at the beach was amazing as was the water, beach and food. I got to take two of my sons deep-sea fishing (Along with a friend) and everyone managed to catch at least one big fish! It was a great day on the water and we actually lost more than we caught. That’s fishing for you! Healthwise… all that time in the sun definitely helped my Vitamin D levels. I made sure to get out of the heat and took an early afternoon respite everyday just to make sure I didnt end up too tired… all in all. Just a nice trip!

Also, I mentioned in my last post that my next infusion of Ocrevus was going to be August 11th. Well, that DID happen and, fortunately, it went off without a hitch. The infusion took about 7 hours in the hospital, which was great as I was originally informed it could take up to 10 or 11 hours. What a relief. My wife was a bit upset because she couldnt be in the Infusion Center (Thank you Covid), but she was able to bring me lunch and nurses some treats. I think she wanted to make sure I wasnt being ignored. 🙂 She’s quite the chick.

As I’ve mentioned several times, the infusion of the Ocrevus (This is the name of my MS medication… just in case you’ve forgotten) comes with a dose of steroids. The steroids knock a lot folks down for a few days or even a week or two post infusion and this time was really no different for me. Fortunately, I only felt tired, dizzy, no appetite and grumpy for about 8 days. If you were to ask my family… they would probably say it felt more like 8 weeks. Guess… It is what it is! 🙂 I am holding out hope that my doctor will allow me to do without the steroids for some future infusion, but I won’t be holding my breath.

So, life is getting back to normal. Vacation (Check), Infusion (Check), Middle son off to college (Check) and two youngest kids back to school (Check). Thanks to Covid my two younger kids (As well as my oldest college kid) are all doing their learning from home this Fall. So much for my plans to have some real time to focus on writing. I won’t bore you with the details, but I would like to write a book of some sort one of these days. A few ideas are percolating around in my head, but with my wife working from and all the kids… peace and quiet are going to be hard to come by. Good Times!

That’s it for today! Aren’t you relieved I didn’t do a whole lot of complaining about how tough things have been? I try to do minimal whining, but I know it creeps in once in a while! I’ll definitely post next week and, if I get the chance, maybe even twice!

Enjoy your weekend!

Greetings! Yes, I realize there is a bit of BIO space associated with completing a Blog via this site. It's rather limited, though, with respect to what you can share (Drop down only responses, Limited response fields, etc.), so I thought I would add a Biography Page.
