Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a great Christmas and a joyful New Year! At least as joyful as such things can be during Covid. 🙂 My wife and I hosted a small party of close friends, so we were able to ring in the New Year in our usual fashion! Also, I recognize it’s been just a little while since my last post, but it’s the Holiday’s!!! Give me a break. 🙂

So, as I note in the title… the dizzies are back. Again! What is this.. the third.. fourth time I’ve mentioned this on my blog? It may be old, repetitive news to YOU, but … man… it’s a pretty ANNOYING thing to me (and anyone else suffering from the same). 🙁

In general, I can expect a bit of a dizzy spell if I’m squatting down and then quickly stand-up. I’m not really sure why, but my doctor once told me that standing up from a squat is like (Say “Like” with a Valley Girl accent and you’ll smile) a total overload of my bodies nervous system. As MS impacts the central nervous, I guess it’s no big surprise that an action like that causes a couple of seconds of a … “WHOAAA… What’s the closest thing I can grab onto so I don’t fall?”… feeling. It’s not a good thing, especially if it’s happening without the squat/stand component.

Unfortunately, over the past two weeks there’s been a bit of dizziness each day. We have been doing some yardwork outside, so I can’t get away from the squat/stand thing, but it’s been tough. I don’t want to complain to my wife/sons who are helping with the work, but like I said… it’s tough. I don’t feel like there have been a big changes or that my disease has been “active” (Remember, in the wonderful world of MS we call that an exacerbation), so maybe this is just one of those things that will eventually fade away. It certainly has in the past, I just don’t remember it hanging on quite this long.

Man! I am hip deep into a pity party today!!!! 🙂 I’ll stop. As I always like to say…. “It is what it is”. 🙂

Few other things… my recent physical showed a need to make some dietary changes, so I’ve been moving away from junk food and trying to focus on vegetable/fruit intake. It was going great right before Christmas, but I relaxed over the break and am getting back on the wagon. I definitely noticed a bit more energy when I wasn’t eating my usual crap. 🙂 I am not calling it a “diet” or a New Year’s Resolution, but am definitely focused on changing that part of my life in reasonable ways. We’ll see how it goes.

Ok! Enough for today! I really do hope y’all had a great time over the Holiday’s and here is looking forward to a much less eventful 2021!

Talk to you next week!
