Happy November! Man…. the year is flying by! Thanksgiving is coming and then, dare I say it, Christmas! Already? Good grief! 🙂
Hope everyone is well and had a great Halloween! It’s a cold and rainy day in Charlotte so far, but I was able to get out and get almost 5 miles done on the road today. I won’t tell you how long it took, but I finished with some time to spare, so thought I’d write up a new post. 🙂 Lucky you….
So… fatigued and dizzy… the title of the post and some of the most common issues people with MS face (Or so I’ve been told). The last couple of weeks have been a bit tough. I’m pushing through and doing my best to stay active, but it is HARD getting out of bed these days. And it’s hard to get back INTO BED too. Throw in a side of dizziness and it’s a real winning combination.
I’m not sure why, but I still feel like resting or sleeping should take care of dizziness, but it never seems to. Last night I woke up feeling pretty dizzy around 2am and had to lay in bed for a long time before I was able to fall back to sleep. I guess when you’re body is tired enough, you can just fall asleep… even if you’re feeling weird. I guess I have known for quite a few years that fatigue/dizziness were going to be a consistent part of my life… yet I still find myself getting grumpy/agitated (Did I say grumpy?) when they pop up. Yep. Frustrating is the right word.
Oh… and I hear you saying to yourself… “Can’t you take some medicine to help with dizziness?”. Well, yes. There are medicines that help SOME people with their dizzy times, I’ve just not found anything that works. Also, I really don’t like having to take more meds than I already do, so I can’t honestly say I’ve tried everything that’s out there. Maybe I’m just a glutton for punishment and would rather fuss at people when I’m feeling bad vs take a pill? That doesn’t sound very nice. I’ll need to check myself on that one. 🙂
I’ll keep it short today! I AM going to look into doing a “Turkey Trot” with my three boys the day of Thanksgiving! I think I’ll actually be able to jog/walk a bit faster than at least one of them. 🙂 The other two will finish in half my time I am sure! Also, I mentioned in my last post that I was going fly-fishing in the North Carolina mountains… well.. I DID go and caught the largest trout of my life! 🙂 Such fun! I’m trying to attach a photo, but if it’s not here… you know I wasn’t able to get it done! 🙂
Take care and talk to you soon!
Steve

Thanks! G’day from a fellow Guy with MS from Australia!
Fatigue is my ‘downfall’ as well… it’s nearly impossible to describe, isn’t it?

Thanks for the comment! Yes… it is SO HARD to describe and, unfortunately, most folks don’t understand at all. Everything looks so “Normal” on the outside, it’s hard to imagine that someone could be so tired. Thanks again for commenting! I enjoyed visiting your site as well! Australia is on my bucket list of places to visit! Maybe once the covid panic/pandemic is over! Stay in touch!
