Good afternoon! It’s Friday, July 30th, today and it’s another hot one in Charlotte, NC. I think the high temperature yesterday was 97… or something like that. Not sure why we don’t just round up and say 100. Pretty miserable to be outside… especially when you throw in the humidity. Welcome to summer in the South! 🙂
I believe the gap between this post and my last is probably about the biggest one I’ve had since starting this blog. Just feeling a bit… “blah”… oh well. Cooler weather is just a short 8 to 10 weeks away! I’m sure my energy and enthusiasm will increase as the temperatures decrease. We’ll see! As I think I’ve said before… so thankful we now have a pool in the backyard. Being able to dip in for a quick cooling off… just makes such a difference some days. 🙂 Good times!
You know…. when I was a kid and thought about dizziness, I usually attributed it with a great time at the playground, amusement park or doing something fairly stupid (Dangerous bike jumps down steep hills and the inevitable crashes come to mind). Everyone was trying to be first in line for the rollercoaster or yelling at friends to spin you on those playground things until you fell off or couldn’t stand/sit upright anymore! The best part… laughing about it the whole time and getting back up to do it again! Man… I actually signed up for that stuff back in the day… as I’m sure so many of you did. The beauty of being a kid who didn’t have to worry about whether or not the dizziness would go away. 🙁
Fast forward to the last 15 years or so and the impact of intermittent dizziness not associated with an amusement park ride and that doesn’t go away even when you take it “Easy”… it’s just a different ballgame. Nowadays, even if I’m feeling “normal”, I can’t spin around quickly in the pool, or turn my head too fast in one direction without risking a pretty serious dizzy spell. It sucks. 🙂 Forgive the language… lol
Im attributing the dizziness of the last few weeks to the fact that I am in the midst of the Ocrevus “Crap Gap”
(If it’s your first time here… Ocrevus is the drug I take to control my MS). My next infusion is scheduled for August 17th, which is just over two weeks away. I fear I will have to postpone my infusion by a week or so due to my two youngest sons heading back to college around that time! They will, of course, need a bit of assistance with moving in. I’m not sure what kind of shape I’ll be in for heavy lifting, but hopefully the heat will cooperate and things will be just fine. Fingers Crossed!!
That’s where I’ll leave off for today! Hope everyone is having an awesome Summer and spending great time with family friends!
Talk to you next week!
Steve
