Greetings to all! Today is Monday, March 30, and the world is still in the midst of the Corona Pandemic. 🙁 The President is on live TV at least once daily, if not more, and reporting on the spread of the virus is basically all the news networks talk about. I don’t know about you, but all of this information is a bit overwhelming.

Basically… corona is bad. Go figure! I sometimes question all of the numbers being thrown around in the media(What? Me? A cynic?). Im not sure if corona is “just bad” or if things are really horrible. My opinions can be, if I’m not careful, very much influenced by the TV station I’m watching (Fox vs CNN, etc.). People with chronic health conditions pay an awful lot of attention to these numbers, especially when doctors and/or public officials say things like, “The elderly and those with compromised immune systems are at great risk”! As I mentioned in a prior BLOG, this whole compromised immune system thing is a pain in the butt… even more so when there are viruses out there making things even more complicated.

In general, I am not much of a worrier when it comes to getting sick. Sick just happens. Whether you are a perfectly healthy 18 year old kid, or an 85 year old in a nursing home. We all seem to get sick. Most of us, probably more than once or a twice a year. However, I admit that corona has me a bit nervous… not necessarily about myself, but for my parents, in-laws, wife, kids and friends… Just hate the thought of someone catching this virus and … being that one in thousand people where things just take a turn for the worse. 🙁 I realize that could happen without a virus like corona being around, but it’s definitely more front and center now.

I’ve mentioned before that we live in the great State of North Carolina! NC, like many other States, has decided the best way to limit the spread of corona is to practice Social Distancing (A new term we can chock up to corona) and stay home until April 30. I realize there is sound logic behind this decision, but it does leave the loophole for everyone to grocery shop, exercise… star gaze… catch butterflies, play in the mud and.. well… just about anything you want… as long as you aren’t in a large group. So, I thought Id be able to quell “cabin fever” pretty easily with an errand or two once in a while. I was wrong (Mostly).

Stacey, my wife, has really been on me about leaving the house. I know it’s probably for the best, but boy it’s annoying. Ever been annoyed? I know I have been… especially for the last two weeks. LOL Only four weeks to go until April 30th. Good Grief! Im still allowed outside for walks and an occasional car ride, but.. well… wasn’t that about the limit of activity I used to set for our old Labrador? Not really sure how I should feel about that, but when we get our next dog, I’ll have to be more aware of these feelings… 🙂

So, hopefully we’ll all be following the advice of the experts! I have an appointment with my Neurologist tomorrow (MS doctor) via Skype of Zoom or something, so will be interesting to see what he has to say. I switched medications (After 12 years) to something a bit stronger back in February. Yes, something a bit “stronger” means.. more impacts to my immune system. This is my first follow-up appointment after this chance and, while this would be a good appointment to have in person… “it is what it is”. I’ll provide a recap on that appointment in my next BLOG and talk a bit more about how corona is impacting the MS Community (Based on my experience in several MS social networking threads).

Take care!
