Hey peeps! So, it’s been over a week since my last post, but.. as always… life is busy and I’ve been a bit tired, so you’ll have to excuse me! 🙂 It’s been a balmy last two weeks in Charlotte, with temps in the mid-90’s and humidity’s … well.. very high too. As I’ve mentioned on prior posts, heat can be a tough thing on people with MS (As well as a variety of other ailments I am sure).

With that being said, I’ve definitely been struggling with the heat a bit. I like being outdoors and that’s been a bit of a pain as Im having to be pretty careful about not over-heating. For example, last week I was doing some work out back in the middle of the day and I just started feeling… funny (How’s that for vague!). I stood around for a few minutes before heading indoors… sweating profusely, dizzy… heart pounding. Not good. 🙁

Fortunately, I DID head inside instead of staying outside to see how things went. I got a bag of ice to put on my neck and a big glass of ice water… and after 5 or so minutes.. started feeling normal again. Good. Grief. The heat has been a bit of a “Hit or miss” thing for me in the past, but for some reason this Summer it’s been much more prevalent. I don’t know for sure, and I bet my Dr couldn’t tell me for certain, but I’m thinking that last little lesion on my spinal chord has something to do with it. Oh well. Carry on… right?

Anyway, I have been spending some time at the pool with my daughter. Great thing about pools is.. you start getting too hot… jump in the pool and cool off! A winning recipe! 🙂 I guess we all have to figure out what works for us.

The coming weeks should be interesting and busy! Im throwing a birthday party for my wife this week and then we head to Florida for our family vacation. Florida is, as Im sure we are all aware, going crazy with Corona Virus right now, but we’re moving forward anyway! Unless they close the beaches of course! After we get back from the beach I’ll have my first full infusion of Ocrevus as Im right at the 6 month mark since my last one. Im wondering if some of my heat intolerance can be attributed to being so close to my next infusion? Will be interesting to see how things go a week or two after Im done with that one!

I’ll leave it off here and hope to write either later this week or very early next! I’ll definitely post once more before heading to the beach!

Take care and stay cool!
