Happy Thursday everyone! Today is September 10, and if you didnt know, it’s our 26th Anniversary today. So congrats to us! 😉 I had made plans for a fancy dinner out tonight, but my wife’s work schedule has been fairly tough the last few days, so we’re going to move our time out to the weekend! Hard to believe so much time has gone by… but then… sometimes it’s pretty easy to believe as well. It’s just the nature of things I guess. Im just glad I have a rock star of a lady to share it all with!

The week has been going OK. It’s a shorter week of school thanks to Labor Day and Im glad about that because I have been TIRED. Yes! TIRED in all caps. Not sure why, but I sure as heck hope this isnt going to last. Fatigue is one of the main reasons MS pushes people out of the workplace, so Im very familiar with it… but this week has been extra rough. Maybe it has something to do with the heat? Who knows… all I know is that I could probably lay around and do literally nothing all day everyday this week. It’s good to have people around who “need” things (ie School work for my 2nd grader, etc.), or Id probably be in trouble.

Just because I like boring you (and myself) with details… at least sometimes… I looked up a few definitions for the word “fatigue”. The consensus seems to be something along these lines, “Fatigue is a feeling of tiredness that may be gradual or sudden in onset. It is a normal thing that follows prolonged physical or mental activity and fully resolves itself with rest”. Pretty simple… huh?

Ha! The parts of that definition I especially like are, “It is a normal thing” and “Fully resolves itself with rest”. Also, the idea that fatigue follows strenuous activity or thinking… yeah right! If people with MS could provide a definition… I wonder if it would sound more like, “Fatigue is a feeling of tiredness not linked to physical or mental activity or anything at all for that matter. It never fully resolves itself, even with copious amounts of rest and mental downtime. Fatigue starts when you wake up, stays with you all afternoon and leaves you to wonder why you’re too tired to sleep at night. Get used to dealing with it.” I wonder if anyone else would agree with my take on things? 🙂

Anyway… Fall is fast approaching and Im hoping with the onset of cooler weather my energy levels pick back up. If not, I’ll have to talk to my Dr. as Im thinking this isnt very normal. The last time we spoke about fatigue my Neurologist suggested some vitamins, which really helped, but even those seem to be falling a bit short these days. Oh well. That’s why MS is a chronic condition… right? Because it really never goes away. GOOOODDDD GRIEF! 🙂

In other news, we received some good news this week about school! Schools in our area are going to two full days in the classroom starting the last week of September. That will be great for our senior Senior, but especially nice for the 2nd grader. She is missing school and her friends BIG TIME! 🙂 We have a few kids in our neighborhood her age, but … alas… they are all boys! She’s needing some girl time! Just ask my wife. 🙂

I’ll leave it there for today! Hope everyone is doing well despite the times! Im hoping this Covid stuff will wear itself out one day soon, so that normal living can commence, but the jury is definitely still out on that one!

Take care!

Greetings! Yes, I realize there is a bit of BIO space associated with completing a Blog via this site. It's rather limited, though, with respect to what you can share (Drop down only responses, Limited response fields, etc.), so I thought I would add a Biography Page.
